My name is Derek Ting. And I’m a filmmaker. I’m an actor. I’m a writer. I’m a director. I’m a lot of things, but not one thing. I am ordinary person, born of ordinary circumstances in New York, and I strive to be extraordinary, to challenge myself in everything I do.
About 8 or so years now I embarked on a journey to fully pursue my dreams. So I started writing my first feature film, $upercapitalist. Since then, it’s been released internationally in August of 2012 and has been successful in both North America and Asia with in the millions of views. I recently followed up my 2nd feature film to 60 countries, Always, which I acted, wrote, and directed.
In the mean time, I do public speaking, direct videos: commercials, music videos, corporate. I continue to feed my hunger to learn. I love to travel, play sports, and exercise. I’m a former CNN producer, ex-Doubclicker(now Google), Mercer consultant, and Cornell University graduate.
